Bubble Printing
June 29th 2008 09:56
This activity is a fun one to do at home and the prints look really great too!
Chn over 3yrs will insist on doing this activity by themselves, but under 3's will need assistance.
To stop children sucking instead of blowing, cut a little nick or hole near the blowing end of the straw.
What you need:
food colouring 2 to 3 different colours
water
liquid detergent
2 or 3 shallow cake tins or plastic bowls or plastic cups
A4 size white paper
plastic drinking straws
Process
Add 1 tablespoon of detergent to 1 cup of water. (you can add more detergent for stronger bubbles).
Add food colouring and gently stir.
Pour into your container.
Using a straw, gently blow into the mixture to form bubbles.
When large bubbles form, gently lay your sheet of paper on top of the bubbles.
The bubbles will pop and will leave a print of color on the paper.
Lift off and repeat the process using the other colours.
Now let dry and admire your lovely creation!
HINTS
To make stronger bubbles just add sugar.
Laminate and the print will last longer.
Why not add some magnets and stick the print onto the fridge.
Turn your print into great wrapping paper.
But most of all have fun with your child as you create together.
Until next time,
