Golf Ball Painting
July 4th 2008 03:30
Here is another fun activity to do with the kids…
Ever wondered what you could do with those idly sitting Golf Balls that you have at home?
What you need
* Muffin tray for paints (optional)
* Slice tray or similiar
* Paints
* spoon
* Paper
* Golf ball
Method
2. Place paper into slice tray.
3. Spoon blobs of paint onto the paper.
4. Add the golf ball and begin to manoeuvre the tray up and down, side to side to make the golf ball roll through the blobs of paint…..if the ball is getting stuck, then water down the paints.
5.When finished let dry and wow! You have created a fantastic looking painting….
Hints
* Laminate to keep for ever
* Laminate and add magnets and stick onto the fridge
* Make wrapping paper
* Frame it and give to nanna or pop as a present
This experience will allow your child to use their sense of touch and sight and they will learn ‘cause and effect’ as they discover that they must make the golf ball roll through the blobs in order for it to leave a pattern. Your child will also learn about colours as their blobs of paint mix into each other creating new and unusual colours.
Their confidence is also boosted as they take pride in their finished creation!
But most of all...have fun with your child as you share 'creating' together!
Until next time,
