Marble Printing
June 30th 2008 09:46
Here is another easy and fun art activity that you can do at home with the kids.
Please supervise this activity as it contains marbles
What you need
* slice tray (or similar)
* paint (not too thick) just water down to the consistency of cream
* spoons
* paper
* 2 marbles[/I]
Process
1. Fill patty tin with different colours of paint.
2. Place the paper into the slice tray so it fits snugly.
3. Let you child spoon a dollop of colour of each paint onto the paper. Add as many colours as you like. Too big a dollop will make the marble stop rolling.
Drop the marbles into the tray.
4. Ask you child to gently tilt or tip the tray back and forth, making the marbles roll through the paint dollops.
5. When finished, remove the paper and presto! a fab printing!
Hints
* Laminate to keep forever!
* Frame it. Makes a great gift for grandma or grandpa.
* Add magnets and stick onto the fridge.
* Use as beaut wrapping paper
Benefits of this activity
* Children will learn 'cause and effect' such as you have to make the marbles move to make a pattern.
* Colour recognition.
* Language development as you talk to your child about the process of the activity and the colours that are used.
* Hand and eye coordination as your child manourvrs the tray back and forth and handles the spoons of paint[/I].
But most of all have fun with your child as you create together!
Until next time,
